The reed used by Qing LIN is between German style and French style, a bit more French. It has a very flexible sound, a bright and mellow sound. It provides ideal tension, stability and consistency, and it is long lasting. Qing made the mould with a specific parameter for the reed making, now it is popular in Europe. The reeds without ears is a common reeds to all oboist. Compare to the reeds with ears, the resistance is smaller, the second octave is less stable, but for the oboists who have used to play the reeds without ears, there is no difference. This shaper is also developed by Mr.Lin Qing.
